Green Schools Programme
The school has a Green Team with representatives from 3rd – 6th Class. Mr Oliver is the Green School Co-ordinator.
We were delighted to hear during the Covid school closure in May 2020 that we were awarded our 10th European Green Flag from An Taisce. This represents 20 years of environmental projects and themes in our school. This is a wonderful achievement and well done to our whole school community. We received very special messages for parents, pupils and staff from the Green Schools office.

GREEN FLAG
Pupils are encouraged to promote environmental awareness and to develop a variety of wildlife habitats in the school grounds. There are a variety of habitats including the vegetable patch, tree nursery, pond, butterfly patch, woodland and log pile. Bird feeding stations and nesting boxes are located in the school grounds. There is also a polytunnel and school farm. The school has won a number of environmental awards at both local and national level.
The Green Team have also formed strong links with Letterkenny Tidy Towns who have been extremely supportive of the school’s environmental programme.
