Ballyraine Chess Team
The Ballyraine chess team made up of students from 4th, 5th and 6th classes have been practising hard both individually and as a team during the month of May, and are looking forward to the first tournament session 3:00 – 4:30 on Friday 5th June. A.K. in 6th class and the first member to join, is our team captain! We are very proud of the team’s dedication and skill.

There will be live streaming games with commentary
The commentary starts at 2.45pm. Three coaches will be chatting about their teams. There will also be discussion on the points scoring and general questions for team managers.
After the games end a young panel of young chess experts will give their tips on how to win at chess .. should be good they’ve a former Girls World Junior champion and a couple of Fide Masters. The games review will start at 4.30pm and end at 5pm .. it will be great for the players.

5 points for participation
Bonus points for finishing in 1st, 2nd or 3rd place
