Roald Dahl Day
It is 100 years since the famous author, Roald Dahl was born in 1916. Now deceased, he is remembered fondly for the many wonderful children's books he wrote, peopled with marvellous, funny, quirky, magical and whimsical characters.

We had a wonderful no-uniform day on Friday 30th Sept dressing up as characters from Roald Dahl's books. Even the teachers and SNA's joined in! We had a wonderful fashion parade in the hall during the day, compered by 6th class, where the children dressed as characters from each book showed us their wonderful costumes, many of which were ingenious hand-made creations. Mr. Oliver, as the fantastic Willy Wonka, even visited each class during the day to surprise lucky students with golden cinema tickets! Music from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory played in the hall all day, and it was a truly wonderful and memorable day. We are all inspired now to read Roald Dahl's books again, or some for the first time!
